Created through the merger of Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation in 2020, we are the only UK
charity providing direct support to those affected by a lung condition, whilst also innovating the cures of
the future.

COVID-19 has shone a light on the nation’s lung health and our breathing like never before, and here at
Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation we are determined to build on this awareness to tackle the
issues that threaten our nations’ lungs. The scale of the problem is huge; in fact, one in five of us will
develop a lung condition in our lifetime. From asthma to COPD, lung disease is the UK’s third biggest
cause of death, with someone losing their life to a lung condition every 5 minutes.

We are determined to be there for everyone living with a lung disease who needs us, but we couldn’t do
