My Story

I often take part in the Thales charity events, but when I heard about the chance of doing the Three Peaks Challenge for Asthma + Lung UK I thought this one in particular had my name all over it.

Along with some of my Thales colleagues we will be taking on Ben Nevis (1,345m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m) in 1 day on 8th October.

I am a bit of an endurance 'athlete'. I do a lot of running, having done several half marathons. I also run with my kids in a buggy and sometimes with a weighted vest (yes I am bonkers). CrossFit is my other love and have taken part in events like Hyrox as an individual female. I have never climbed mountains though, so I am really looking forward to this challenge and hoping my fitness levels and love of endurance events will help me reach the top of each of the peaks in the time frame.

I'm lucky enough not to suffer with asthma but know many that do. However, my dad unfortunately has lung disease (BFL) which has got a lot worse over the last few years. He used to be able to walk miles, but sadly these days he can no longer easily leave his house. It has been very debilitating for him and so sad to see him deteriorate.

I am hoping to raise £1,000 for Asthma + Lung UK charity. Thank you so much for any pennies that you are able to contribute towards my target.
